Patriotism Runs Deep in Utah!
Utahans were thanked by Air Force officials for their show of Patriotism at the Utah State Capitol Monday morning. Selected as one of three cities, Salt Lake City was privileged to host the Proclamation Ceremony for The Air Force Week.
Capitol attendants watched as four F16 jet fighter planes flew above Capitol Hill to pay tribute to the honor awarded to the state. This honor was given to Utah because of its aid and dedication to the Air Force. Secretary of the Air Force Michael B. Donley personally thanked Utah for its great example of community involvement expressing thanks for the “remarkable support our airmen have received here.”
“This week the Air Force is glad and grateful to call Utah home,” Secretary Donley said.
Utah Governor Jon Huntsman, Jr., delivered the Proclamation officially deeming June 1st through the 7th as Air Force Week. He thanked the Air Force for their work and achievements and saluted them for becoming the largest and technically advanced in the world. “Thank you Secretary for honoring the greatest state in the country,” Governor Huntsman said. “Patriotism runs really deep in this state.”Governor Spends Time With Elementary Students
During their 20 minute visit, the students were shown the Governor’s High School Musical basketball signed by all members of the cast. This unexpected interaction with the students brought their tour of the Utah State Capitol to life. We thank Governor Huntsman for making a life memory for these students!
