Monolithic Columns – The shaft of each column is made of one, continuous polished piece of marble. These interior columns, at nearly 26 feet tall, utilize several features of the Ionic Order, namely, spiraled volutes, elegant bases, and egg-and-dart moldings.

 Laylight – Glass ceiling features transmitting light through the roof level skylights. Extensive use of natural light through the use of many windows is a unique feature of Kletting’s design. The laylights of the building’s vaulted atriums and the House, Senate, and Supreme Court chambers, are ideal examples of this feature.
